OK, so I live in a relatively decent part of Southampton, down near the Marina and a few Saints players live in the same road as me (Jose Fonte two doors down in fact), I never expected to be a victim of any crime in this area.

Never the less I just get a knock on my door from a neighbour asking me to check my garage as his had been broken into. Lo and behold mine had too. Luckily I only keep old rubbish stuff in there that they would be welcome to take.
Point is though I'm about to buy my first car which was going to live in that garage, now I'm not sure if it's safe.

I'm really annoyed as I've been saving for ages for this car, and was ridiculously excited about it. Now these vermin have ruined it for me.

Sorry to hear that. Lots of stories about Liverpool players being targeted by thieves last year. Seems that living in such close vicinity to them isn't the safest place to be. Do you think they went after the area because of that?

Nah wouldn't think so. They aren't exactly high profile players, even in Southampton!!

We had some travellers move in not too far away and neighbour reckons it was them. Not politically correct but guess it could have been.

Sorry to hear that man, it can't be a nice thing being broken into. Get a sticker with a big ass dog on it, stating that he lives in your garage? ...Cheaper, but probably less effective than an actual safety device....hmmm.....listen to Reidy

Cheers Alio mate. Funnily enough me and the mrs have been thinking about getting a dog!

It's not nice no, but at least they didn't take anything. My neighbour got rinsed two mountain bikes and a camera. And what makes it worse the landlord is being crap at putting a new lock on it!

any locksmith shop should be able to sort you one mate. quite pricey but then so are possessions.

Southampton is undergoing a burglary crisis at the moment mate, nothing is safe. Unfortunately these sh*tbags are targetting decent areas as they know there is more chance of a decent haul somewhere like ocean village than millbrook or thornhill.

I used to deal with Bradley Wright Phillips and Kenwyne Jones sometimes - they lived that way.

BTW did you ever see Alan Pardew sneaking out of Fonte's place - wasn't that the rumoured reason why he got sacked?

Nah never saw Pardew but I heard that too. I see Fonte all the time but never with a lady so I wonder if she's moved to Newcastle!!
