Something that baffles you completely

Electricity, in fact I bought 1 of these

and I try to use it but due to not understanding leccy whatsoever it's a complete waste of space, I just 'used' it to test if my car battery charger is working or not, some numbers came up so I'm taking it that the charger aint bust (more cos that what i want to believe).
As for all of the other things it can test I haven't got the foggiest.
If I could use it to test if AA & AAA batteries have any zap left in them then I'd be a contented fella, I could at least free up a kitchen drawer littered with the damn things due to the kids putting them in there but not closing the new pack properly which means they all get mixed up.

When I have to write about energy systems or something I still have to google all the chemical structures.
