Anything you've ever done in front of your computer has been recorded. soon it will come out that the webcams were transmitting even when not in use with yahoo/skype/whatever. Even transmitting when apparently deactivated. Only disconnecting from the internet (or cellotape) will save you from blackmail when you're rich & famous later in life.

Along with the revelations that virus scanners have been transmitting the nature of your computer's content to the authorities all these years, we truly have no expectation of privacy when online. Young people (and the if-you've-got-nothing-to-hide crowd) are comfortable or at most apathetic about all this.

now combine all the authorities know about you with Google's attempt at creating AI - with us as its stimuli -

...something huge is happening to our future.

What is actually happening...is it good or bad?

recent revelations suggesting the NSA has inserted backdoor vulnerabilities into technical standards for encryption technologies adopted by many companies.

Yahoo webcam images from millions of users intercepted by GCHQ.

we are watched not by people but by algorithms.

Google has gone on an unprecedented shopping spree and is in the throes of assembling what looks like the greatest artificial intelligence laboratory on Earth; a laboratory designed to feast upon a resource of a kind that the world has never seen before: truly massive data. Our data. From the minutiae of our lives.

Ah poo.

Hopefully half of the dodgy stuff they've recorded me doing will not surface because of the Yewtree factor.

Is,nt there already software in place to track stolen laptops where you can actually switch on the webcam through another computer and identify the [Poor language removed] that stole it?
