When was the last time we started a game with two strikers starting up top in the striking positions a la 4-4-2

I seem to be at a loss to remember you see. Any one that can help me out, that'd be great. And if you can remember specific cases of starting out with 2 strikers home and 2 strikers away that would be even better.

Well it looked all set to be 2 strikers last night, but was it?

Last one at home was against Bolton I think. We all got really happy about 2 strikers, but lost

To be honest at home i think we should play 4-4-2, drop Cahill and play straq next to Jelavic. Then start Cahill for the big games etc..

bit confused where pienaar and anichebe were playing last night. vic started on the left with pienaar in the hole, but Stevie kept drifting left to link with baines, and vic got pushed forward. result was a 4-4-2, which played into the hands of carrahger/skirtl. 2 lumps vs 2 lumps.

So, struggling to think of an away with two up top. Me too, so why give it a try away there. Of all places. What next, 3-3-4 at old trafford?

442 may look more attacking but I fear it would prove counter-productive. 451 suits us more, although I could understand a desire for the wide players to push up into a 433. With Pienaar and Drenthe in the team this could be effective, particularly at home.

I think most the time we had two left midfielders and an isolated striker. We just didn't hold onto the ball, everyone was guilty of just losing it too easily. It was an embarrassment. No leaders taking control and only having Fellaini at centre mid was an issue with Pienaar drifting left and Rodwell being utterly useless, although he always needs a few games to get back into it which is why I was shocked to see his name down to start.
Jags was off the pace at times and too tight on his man, Johnny would have been a much better fit due to his great form.

I mean to be fair I could go on like this for hours but we all know the truth, terrible tactics, terrible selection and terrible performances all over the pitch.

Oh and yeah, we play 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 depending on who we're playing and who's playing at the time really!
