Its seems to be all doom and gloom on here at the moment. We have even got Monty wishing he hadn't supported the club for the last 50 years... Some of you need to seriously stop and think, particularly some of the older fans. Its embarrassing to read at times.

Sure, we haven't signed anyone yet, but we will, and these players wont be your Jason Koumas' of the world, they will move us forward. Moyes is taking no messing, he will only bring in the quality needed and he will, eventually.

Lets say we sign Moutinho as Carsleys replacement and get a decent replacement for AJ, that for me will be a definite improvement on last year. We will be starting the season with Jagielka and Pienaar in much better shape than last year, with no key players (Lescott, Arteta, Cahill, Yak etc) having left. Not to mention having some of the youner lads chomping at the bit.

We are without a doubt at our strongest position in years. It wasn't that long ago we were all gutted to miss out on Europe on that last game against Man Utd, it wasn't that long ago we were absolutely buzzing to qualify for Europe. Things aren't that bad lads. We are after five or six players, have some faith that we will get at least two or three in.

I agree with alot of what your saying bar this, Moutinho will not be Carsley's replacement, he'll be Osman's replacement as the more attacking minded midfielder.

All in all though good post. (y)

The season starts in 9 days and we don't have enough players to fill the bench with pros. Moyes has to put Academy players there just to make up the numbers.

Where will the 5 or 6 players come from in just a week?

Have faith! Stop being so negative!

DM has never let us down before! (y)

So what is wrong with Academy players?

You meen that we should buy 4-6 new players, all in the starting 11?

I did see CL-qualifikation IFK Gothenburg - FC Basle yesterday, with a 17-teen year old Robin Soder play- He did score for the 5:th time in 7 games.

Give them the chance, and i believe they will take it. Gosling looks really promising. And so does Baxter.

i believe that havin' a good old sing at the match will blow off some cobwebs, trawl through that song thread and lets get it on.

Your right mate, the sooner the season starts the better.

So what if we dont sign anyone, so what if kirkby is called in and I couldnt care less with all the negativity thats going on around here.

Everton are still here and we're still one of the biggest teams in the country, we have Davey Moyes as manager and our first 11 is still one of the best teams up and down the land.

Moutinho is nothing like Carsley though. M'Bia is a defensive midfielder, Moutinho is a proper centre midfielder.

Quality Post Mate - It is refreshing to see after the doom and gloom you see on the "other" sites out there.

I am suprised that evertonian suicide rate is not higher the way they go on.

We will have 2 or 3 players in this week/early next and a few more before the window closes.

IMWT!!

It's not all bad eh, just a rocky patch. I think the worry is that we appear to be on the brink of quite a precipice of immediate potential disaster.
If we avoid it fantastic, but we are right there teetering on the edge and the signs ahead are not great (just yet).

A handful of signings will ease the feeling, but they haven't happened yet so it's people dealing with their own imagination regarding how this might turn out.
Just gotta let people get on with it until Moyes signs a few peeps and snaps everyone out of it.

The bigger worry (for me) is BK's statements about being skint and our complete failure to attract investment. Moyes can spend the kitty he has this season, but then what? If we don't get CL and the wedge that comes with it (which BK has said we won't do this season) where will the money be coming from? BK aint got any.
Moyes is already pissed off and by some accounts pissed off enough not to sign his contract until money appears, so god knows where his head is at over all this.

Until he signs a new contract, we have 1 season left with him. This season. End of this season, BK says we're skint. That's my worry.

I don't like to think too far ahead though so I'll play dumb and keep smiling :D

good post, couldnt agree more. with cahill back it will just be like a new signing and it will help to have the youngsters ready to get at it. signing new players doesnt always work out. (city is a good example) and i think that if we keep our core players together like grand old team said, then we should be fine. would still love to get moutinho and the likes. teetering on the edge? the season hasnt even started! give the lads a chance to get fit and in form
