Solutions?

So what are they?

What does Moyes need to do redress the balance? It seems he is incredibly light on the striker front. Can he bring in a loan player? Should he bring back Vaughan? How about trying some of the kids?

He openly said tonight that Yakubu is not in great condition. So makes you wonder why play him? Is Beckford good enough?

Are the midfielders not doing enough to pick out players runs? Should Arteta be doing more?

I love Moyes, I want him to find the solution because he needs to bring this club some success, otherwise he would have failed in his job (and he would be the first to say so also).

So come on, what is the solution? (and remember this is in the Everton Forum, so maybe a mature reply is required).

Keeping playing that team and hope for the best. We did actually create chances today, and Yakubu can score goals, so hopefully it will come. The balance was much better today, we where attacking from both sides and for the most part, Arteta and Fellaini dominated the midfield.

Moyes has got to be more intelligent with his subs. Bringing a player on in the 86th minute? Osman on for Cahill? Not a criticism of Osman, who actually did well coming off that left flank, but he wasn't what we needed.

It was partly addressed today in that we harassed the ball carrier more. We'd gotten away from that in a bad way because we bought into our own hype and thought we could just pass it into the back of the net with neat inter-play. You have to earn the right to play your football, as they say...we used to be known for harassing and putting pressure on the ball. Frankly, this side is not as good as they think they are and they still need to put in the hard work.

Well it's common knowledge that his subs are relatively poor and ill advised, but then maybe that is Round's job to discuss with Moyes.

So maybe Round is the problem? Is he working the players enough?

I understand what your saying about "Keep Doing the same" but the "hope for the best" sounds alarm bells with me. How long do we hope for the best? When does this season become a failed season?

Give Pienaar parity with Arteta and get that contract sorted. Been 18 months of drag on so far.
To find the cash, let Distin go or Yobo permanently.
Donovan will have run another year on his contract down in January.
If Saha cant get fit and stay that way let him go.
If Yak wants to go to West Ham, let him.
If Vaughan can't put 14 games in on the trot, let him go.
Ask Ferguson if he fancies a 6 month contract.

I think he took Coleman off more than put Bilyaletdinov on. Maybe he was tiring, or maybe he wanted the Everton fans to clap him off the pitch - he did a good job for me. would prefer to see Osman behind yakubu when he comes on and keep Pienaar where he normally plays.

We are so badly in need of a striker though. Its becoming obvious that the bargain basement buys aren't gonna be the solution.

I think he should look at trying different options though. He has players at his disposal, but he just doesn't want to risk it. So he's playing an unfit Yakubu (by his own admission).

Yakubu was much better today mate, I don't know where your dislike of him comes from?

Can you stop it! I remember you ****ging off Yak moments after he signed. I think any football fan with half a brain knows that he's peaked, especially at Everton. I want the Yak who burst the net against Pompey, and not this attitude ladened footballer who doesn't even want to be at Everton.

I think the Yak was fine today. His second to last effort that near shaved the post was a superb opportunist effort. He's usually cool slotting home too, so it surprised me he didn't bury that last minute chance. The point is, he gets into those positions.

That was acceptable today attacking-wise. Not great, but three good chances carved out was not bad. Saha will be available for the Derby it looks like, so I'd keep that set up today v Birmingham: Yak up on his own.
