Serious question...
Are there folks out there who use the free-to-download Open Office rather than Microsoft Office?

If so, how does it compare... Favourably or not?

Serious comments and opinions will be appreciated.

Facetious comments liable to result in threadbans :)

Why your preference for those two and not for instance LibreOffice?

Sawdust on toast ?

Fair comment Armel, any alternative to MS Office then.
Open Office is supposed to be compatible, is LibreOffice ?

Yeah it's from a splinter group. For what it's worth having used them all I find them all somewhat similar. Big bonus with the open source alternatives is that they generally need less resources. I prefer Libreoffice to open office.

Generally I prefer the commercial one that is also available free.

Tried OpenOffice years ago - couldn't get on with it, hated the fact it wasn't genuine Word/Excel etc (the interface differences!). I subscribe to Office 365 so always have the latest version of the Office suite - and 1TB of Onedrive storage.

Just pay the money for MS office, I've tried the others but found them all to be rubbish. Certainly not worth the money you save for the clear distinction in quality being the programs.

If your using it for work it ends up costing you more with all the messing around.
