Ever since I was a kid, I've watched any footy on tv automatically,it's just something you do innit.
Over the last few years I've been getting increasingly disappointed at players behavior mainly on, but also off pitch ( is there no longer a charge of bringing the game into disrepute ? ).
This summer, while watching Euro's,I actually found myself turning the footy off, because I'd got sick of all the stop/ start, feigning, screaming in agony, rolling around, card waving.
One of the prime objects of "the beautiful game" now appears to be to feel for any slightest contact & throw yourself to the floor as if shot.
When I played 20 years back, it was an unwritten rule that you would "man up" if someone hurt you,not professional I admit, but I'm at the point where I just don't t want to watch anymore, it's embarrassing to me.
