So, it's no secret to those who know me that I live near the bottom of a smallish mountain and spend most of my time roaming around up there..... in the last week I have been to the summit and around the mountain 4 times...last night was the first night in 5 days I never went up there... woke up this morning to the news that 2 climbers dissapeared on the mountain yesterday... this morning the coastguard have recovered two bodies.... so so sad....... highlights the need to be extra careful and not be complacent I suppose. Was gonna go for a walk up again this afternoon but now somehow it feels wrong to do so.

RIP Guys.

Thing is I was in the nature park at the bottom of the mountain/hill early yesterday morning having coffee in the cafe there... all the climbers were milling about and preparing for their day full of smiles and humour looking forward to the day ahead.... life can be cruel at times ffs.

What do you reckon happened mate?

There's an area in the North Stack area named Gogarth Bay ( google it ).... very popular with climbers as it's quite a tricky, challenging rock face.... personally I'm not a climber...to much of a sh1tbag to be honest.... the weather here yesterday was dry but very very windy... Gogarth is very exposed... my guess is they've been roped together and 1 of them has slipped and fallen.... that's all I got Muggins sorry... may hear more later... friend of mine was on the lifeboat since 4 am this morning so has gone to bed now...will have a chat with him later and see if there's any more news.

Sad news. About all you can say is that they died doing something they loved. The risks can be minimised but never totally removed.

RIP

BBC news suggests they had been climbing on South Stack cliffs which is odd as climbers are banned during sea bird breeding season. Shame that anyone loses their life in such a way, RIP

Yeah it's odd... the area collectively is generally known as South Stack... this includes the Gogarth Bay area...( it's between the lighthouse and North stack)... maybe they were on south stack side or it could be loose wording in the report... i'll find out later on though.
