So where did this £100m figure come from ?

I ask because

- no one at the club has ever mentioned it once
- no one at the club even suggested we would spend big this summer (as far as I'm aware)

It all seems to be built around presumptions, first i heard about it was on the forums and twitter and then the press picked up on it and from there it seems to have somehow turned into a fact... which has ultimately led to disappointment.

Some may suggest the figure was leaked to the press by the club to soften us up but I'm fairly sure the press only started reporting AFTER the figure was doing the rounds on social media etc.

I think the massive TV deal meant that I would have expected around a £30 million spend.

The signals coming out of the club certainly didn't lead people to believe we weren't about to spend a penny more than we got for Stones. Even apologists like you have to agree with that.
