Lol i had a nice time when i was there. But i see Liverpool as an adopted home. Melbourne as much i loved it not so much. Great place though, and Australia is a great country. But it's just too bloody far, to refer to as a home of any sort.
Not been to Cork City itself, but spent a few days with an Uncle who lived in a place called Castledownbere. Absolutely beautiful part of the world. The accent was completely different to the Dublin accent we are all so used to here in England. The local pub was a room at the back of a shop and they had hooleys every night and sang the national anthem at closing time.

I was there from 1967 mate, my grandparents where living there before that, not sure what year it was when they moved there. My Aunty and uncle lived there as well they were there for a fair few years as well, they are both dead now but my cousin still lives in the same house, Gilchrist there name is.
It was my Nans house. Number 5. Jack and Ivy Crooks. I think they moved in when it was new! It would be around mid 80s they went into a supported living scheme.

We were not there for long as the joys of Westminster Rd beckoned!
