In all seriousness, the odds are stacked against change by the use of materialism, greed and consumption in the major narratives within the dominant cultures.

What really gets me is all those southern hemisphere tvvats are causing most of it with their bush fires and barbecues and they give not one shyte because they know full well that all their 2nd hand smoke wafts straight up to our hemisphere from below. Makes me blood boil.
 
Another reason there may perceived to be more extreme weather is down to increased media coverage (and the ability to cover it) coupled with the world's population quickly spreading across the globe.

Also, love reading a story along the lines of "hottest summer since records began", when records only began 150 years ago, and the Earth is millions and millions of years old. Love how we think the Earth revolves around the human race.

....and this was my original point really, almost Kopite behaviour. We are an insignificant spot compared to the planets Eco system and the effects of the Sun........
 
I mostly think it's a crock. The earth undergoes these patterns of changes...just our recording of it is obviously more precise now since technology has advanced and we aren't amoeba...well, apart from RS fans.

Mind you, I have become far more aware of the issue since becoming a parent. If even a doubt exists that this could be a terrifying future for my bairn, I'd do anything to rectify that...

I still think the motivation behind it was largely for governments to introduce green taxes. That way, we wouldn't quite mind as we'd be helping the greater good.

Indeed. We will not affect the weather. We can however clean up all the crap that pollutes our oceans and we can mitigate the effects of weather pattern changes.........
 
The important thing to remember is the following: scientists are idiots who have no expertise and just babble on about whatever.

Climate Change. Of course the climate changes. Don't need a scientist to tell me that.
And it's not my or anybodyelse's fault.
An industry founded on complete bollox.
