Pardon me, not poisonous, you can eat them...venomous

Cue Dirty Harry voice over;
Given that 21 of the 25 most venomous snakes in the world live in Australia, it should come as no surprise that the most poisonous snake in Australia is also the most poisonous snake in the world. The inland taipan, commonly known as the “fierce snake,” has venom so powerful a single bite could kill 100 grown men.
So you have to ask yourself - Do you feel lucky
No, not unless i had a Honey Badger next to me i would'nt. To kill a 100 men with one bite, the chemicals that must be in that, bloody hell.

Fortunately we don’t see too many of them. The most dangerous I have come across is the king brown, I used to catch them as part of my job when working on mine sites in Karratha. Largest one I caught was about 5 feet.

Comparing it to the door, it looks like it is only 7 or 8 feet long, so not that big.
Big enough.

When I was on jungle patrol in Malaya (1950's) we used to tread heavily as local knowledge said that snakes on the ground will feel the vibrations and slither off. It must have worked because I never saw one. One patrol was attacked by a Tigress with two cubs. They had to shoot the Tigress and the cubs were sent to London Zoo via a troopship. I saw the cubs, as big as an Alsatian dog.
