Small Time Mentality

Far from lowering expectation he massively increased it. When we came 7th in his first season we released a DVD called "the magnificent 7th", in our the last 7 years of his reign we were in the top 7 of 6 occasions (and on the other we finished 8th with 60 point, the same number of points as when we came 4th), only Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal finished in the top 7 more than that.

Mate can you not smell the stench of small time? A DVD for 7th????? REALLY????

No wonder the kopites take this piss. I cringed myself inside out reading that.

I think his point is how far we'd fallen and how Moyes dragged us back.

Considering the top four was Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and United Moyes couldn't have realistically done any more in terms of league placings.

For me you go all out for mourinho at all costs. If we then keep our top players and let mourinho by 3 or 4 top class players with the reported 100mil we have to spend you then tell chang this is the last year. We use mourinho and the other big names to secure a proper sponsor.

It happened long before Bill took over.

Peter Johnson was the man in charge when we stood on the platform waving goodbye to our elite status as the Sky/PL gravy train pulled out of the station.

We could and should have been on it.....at that point we had been champions more often than United and had won it at least as many times as Arsenal.

The early and mid 90s was when the foundations for modern Everton were laid.

Bill just lacked both the wherewithal and the vision to arrest the slide.

Our new bloke had the wherewithal.....let's just hope he has the vision.

There must be a young Arsene Wenger type out there somewhere :)

If only we had discovered the original before Arsenal did :(
I would argue that Kenwright has done far more lasting damage; especially when you consider the NTL and King's Dock fiascoes, as well as the shoring up of shares via Robert Earl, who he knew full well had no intention of providing the sort of help we desperately needed.

It's a miracle that going almost three years without signing a first team player didn't result in relegation.

This is all a bit daft really. Accepting of mediocrity and were small time moans are throw away terms to attack other fans.

You don't just make success happen by insisting on it. It's out of your control mostly as a fans.

I just seem people throwing that around as much plums as those calling their own fans Geordies and kopites.

It's all petty bickering without much real content. Anyone buying into all this a bit daft and sucked in by the media and their own self importance.

Have you been hacked mate?

Here on GOT and social media I keep seeing fans happy to accept mediocrity.

Poor results are accepted, sub-standard players praised and now we are looking for a manager championship names are being touted for the job.

Kenwright and Moyes have caused over a decade worth of brain washing. Some fans, all media and rival fans view us as plucky little Everton and place us in line with Stoke.

How do we undo it? How do we start challenging for silverware and respect again and get our fans to be optimistic and stop applauding dross?

The other lot across the park despite not being a top club anymore still demand some kind of respect from media and other clubs. Why don't we?
We need to break the bank , offer Mourinho a kings ransom and a blank canvas . If he doesn't want to know . Go for Koeman , we have to get this absolutely spot on . We mess up , we will be joining the toon army . Moshri has to make his intention clear to BK and RE , sack the pair of them .
