Slits or Gaye?

Choosing between Gaye's standard and the Slits' cover is a choice I don't want to make, but I'll choose the Slits' version because it's not easy reworking an iconic tune like that and making it worthwhile, which the Slits certainly did. RIP Ari Up. RIP Marvin Gaye.

Holidays in the Sun' or 'In theCity'?
"Holidays," for the frothing aspect and the lines "I don't understand this bit at all" and "Please don't be waiting for me."

The Jam eventually caught on in the USA but not until they were mostly done. I'm pretty sure that I was one of only two people in my entire high school who bought their records. Loved 'em.

Me and my friends were way into them (in Chicago suburbs in late 80s) as well.

Amazing as it may sound, especially with the hilarious title, I'm genuinely not sure if I prefer Marvin's 'Grapevine' or The Slits'

Tell me what to think.
Marvin
On the evidence of the first 15secs of listening Slits would get thrown off a pub karaoke for taking the micky, got to give them marks for nerve
