Anyone have any experience of this or family members who do it?

My 8 year old son did it a couple of years ago and at first it was quite scary as he would try and open the front door, or stand in the corner of rooms talking with his eyes open.
On one occasion he came down stairs whilst I was watching telly, stood in the corner staring at the ceiling and a started saying "I can't go up in the loft, my dad won't let me." He kept saying this and started shouting "No!" Then just turned round and ran off to bed.
Well in the last couple of weeks he has started again, watching the boxing now, and he has just came down with his coat on and started his brushing his hair. It was quite funny but my missus asked him where he was going and he just looked right through her and tried to open the front door.
Will he grow out of this, just seems strange he stopped for a couple of years and has started again.

My grandson sometimes does it . Daughter once caught him going out of the flat door . I fitted bolts at the top and bottom the next day . He's never done it while staying over at mine, though .

Tenuous but my sister's mate's fella sleepwalks, fairly regularly by the sounds of things .They had her boss staying over after a works do and her fella had obviously taken a wander during the night. Next morning the boss, bit shaken, took her to one side and asked if he sleepwalks, she said 'I'm really sorry, did he disturb you?' He goes: 'well.. He got into my bed and spooned me...'

This happened about this time last year:

I'd been having loads of medical tests due to experiencing sharp pains in my heart (comment: all clear now, thankfully!). The next stage of testing involved me being wired up to loads of sensors around my chest/torso, with a box attached to my side which sent signals to the cardiac unit at the local hospital. I had it fitted for 24 hours.

Anyway, I was to have a normal 24-routine but no phys and no shower. it was midweek so a working day and I was sleeping in my room in the Mess. It was a fitful half-sleep, as I knew I couldn't turn on my side and had to lie rigid on my back almost, as the wires and box were clunky.

I was half-asleep when I suddenly felt someone was watching me: within a millisecond I realised someone was moving along my wall towards me.

It was the lad from the room opposite mine (a fellow Blue who, spookily, shares the same birthday as me, too) who sleepwalks quite often apparently. I'd left my room door unlocked that night, he'd had one of his sessions and had sleepwalked right into my room, stark bollock naked.

I genuinely thought there was a fire or something like that, and he was trying to wake me up and alert me to get out. I bolted upright like a shot - which sent the little box of tricks into overdrive, beeping like mad.

Of all the bloody nights to leave my room unlocked, and for him to sleepwalk. When I got to the hospital the following morning they immediately asked me about the incident on the graphs that were alarming them - I tried to explain and the cardiologist just burst out laughing!

Long story, sorry, but I'll never forget the noise of the monitor going bonkers as I shot upright.

Have you considered an exorcism?

My 7 year old has been doing this recently. Comes down stairs and stands in the living room. Was a bit scarey at first. Getting used to it now, I just pick him up and take him back to bed. Think I used to do it when I was a kid.
