We’re moving to a new place in a couple of weeks and are debating whether to go with Sky or Virgin.

I’ve had SkyQ and internet previously and liked the quality and service, but have no experience with Virgin Media tv or internet so I’m hoping someone on here can advise.

Sky tend to be more expensive but I’ve haggled them down as much as possible.

The two offerings are the most complete packages available:

Full HD and 4K
Sky cinema on both
Sky Sports and BT Sports (both HD) on both
Anytime calls
1 multi room box
18 month contracts

Sky internet is 140mbps download, 20 upload.
Virgin is 600mbps download, 40 upload.

Sky includes Netflix, Virgin we’d have to pay for separately to keep it (which we would, £10 a month).

The prices come in at the following (after averaging out referrals, credit offered etc):
Sky = £91.20 per month (including Netflix)
Virgin Media = £88.17 per month (£78.18 without Netflix)

Who should I go with?

Awaits @Joey66 with his IPTV suggestion lol.Which I ACTUALLY have myself lol
I boasted about that to one poster as my son has two sources & on match day they both went down :) he had not realised his main one was two weeks overdue.....doh - paid for another backup which is hit & miss - the servers are being tracked & shut down, but our main one is steady atm ....saying no more as the jinx may return lol

Can’t speak for Sky, but our Virgin media is crap mate. The Internet connection is rubbish upstairs, despite having boosters and the so called faster package.

They just fob you off on the phone too.

We’re leaving it as soon as the contract expires.
Find a club for IPTV get a mate who has a good source usually hide in the shrubberies of Otterspool prom lol
No joking apart get a reliable IPTV source ....My sons club source is full .....

Mine is from Cyprus and had 2 weeks a few years ago and it went off.

I had the same, constantly losing signal and when you rang, they said they were always working in the area.
Got SkyQ now and I'll never go back.

Ours is that bad, that my lad has moved his x box out of his bedroom and plugged it in, old skool into the router in the front room.

They must have a list of lies to tell you stuck to the computer screens of the call handlers too, as you get that many excuses off them.

I switched from Sky to Virgin over ten years ago and don't regret it.
Broadband service is excellent, and after a bit of an argument about a year ago about paying for TV channels I never watch, they eventually amended my package and reduced the price by £20 a month.
IPTV is most definitely worth considering, much more cost effective !!!! But there's plenty of naff IPTV suppliers out there - I must have got lucky, the guy I use is a 24-carat diamond in terms of upgrades etc

Had sky internet for 20 years, had our 1st very problem with it last week as kept going off and cutting out and we had 3 engineers turn up in one day lol ,
The engineers did all underground stuff relayed 500metres of cable to the cable box, we got new router, They put new wires in the little grey box thing on the outside of your house, as well as changing socket in the house were Internet/phone goes, Could not ask for more---have not had the tv part for many years but was always decent for me as now like most i use other means [IPTV] - Sister has had virgin for a little bit of time and as far as i know has not had any problems
