I know. Seen that on SSN. Crazy stuff, Rodwell was embarrassed, saying "I was only on for 5 minutes, I'm not man of the match"

Plenty of candidates but Ossie for me.

He did say a Man of the Match performance, not actually the MOM, but was it that Andy Burnham again? He knows **** all of anything below the top 4 that one. I'm surprised he knew who United were playing.

No idea. Rodwell was actually awarded Sky Sports' Man of the match award though.

Everton youngster Jack Rodwell was embarassed to receive the man-of-the-match award following his goal scoring performance in a 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

The 18-year-old midfielder came on as a substitute for Steven Pienaar with only a few minutes to go. The youngster went on to grab a goal and ensure that his side raked in the three points on offer at Goodison Park, but modestly maintained that his cameo was not worthy of the award.

"I can't really take the man of the match because I've only come on five minutes or whatever," Rodwell told Sky Sports 1.

"Credit goes to all the lads who worked their socks off today. We knew we had to work hard because Manchester United are a good side, and we did that.

"It was a great team performance.

"We've been on a good run of late, and it was nice to get three points.

"We're missing a couple of big players, but we've all come together this week.

"It's been a good week of training and it showed. We worked hard, we ran more than them and we went at them.

"We're a great side home and away, and we've great players who can score goals."

The victory was Everton's first league win at home to Manchester United in five years.
