Circa 2001 I believe. I dont thinkl anything went wrong, it just seemed to stop happening. Same with the 8 second rule for keepers.

Also says that the player will be booked for doing it. As I remember, refs started doing it, then seemed to only do it if they booked the player, then just stopped booking players and doing it at all.

Replace 10 yards forward, with Sin-bin, and that very same thing will happen.

One of the most affected teams by it at the time was United, and it is of very little coincidence that it died out soon after.
