Imagine being in a raucous Goodison (still terraces in those days) after a victory against QPR, two or three games to spare, and every single Blue - including yourself, of course - singing "Hand it over! Hand it over! Hand it over, Liverpool!"

Imagine that.

That's how great it is.

I imagine that is one song we we will never sing again........

But not because we will never win it again.

I was in the Main Stand once - terrible game - and two old codgers behind me were moaning like [Poor language removed] all through the game. Eventually, one of them said "We've never been the same since Tommy Lawton left." Lawton had played his last game for us in 1939. this was 1981.

In the mid-80's my ST was in the top Balcony, just right of halfway and right next to the steps. An old fella used to sit directly behind me, and he used to watch the match turned side on to the pitch with his feet on the steps because:

"These are bloody awful!"

I swear he moulded me into the miserable git I am today.

We will win again. Call me mad, I think we have as good a chance as anybody in the Europa.

Will we ever win anything again ? Not the league of course but i can't understand why we are so [Poor language removed] in cup competitions. The same [Poor language removed] nearly every year either under smith, or moyes or roberto
