Silva to be released

Saw him at Oxford United, he looked very sharp in his running but all the play was down the right hand side (he's left footed), so not much of a threat on the near post. Would be better with lots of crosses from the left ala Baines and drenthe.

Yeah because scoring 1 in 4 for a side which is basically playing in a non descript league, will really make Moyes pick him.

Though I doubt the article is true, them stats alone are enough for me to say he should leave, clearly not good enough, unless he has a booming early 2012.

Wasn't he only on a half season loan last season? I'm pretty sure he left after 2011, not in 2010. This kid scored a brace against Benifica, which isn't an easy feat for 21 year old loan. He has a lot of potential and so far he seems to be progressing well. I would be pretty mad if Everton released him without giving him a game considering he has been our most successful striker this season. I agree with that article it would be very wasteful on our part and I would be pretty upset.

Why release him? It's not as if the squad is full of depth and competition.

Oh and we have strikers who score 2 goals every game...
Let's face it - 1 in 4 would do us a world of good at this exact moment!

Gah, this so badly this.

Beckford scored 1 in 4ish and we were so quick to decry him as an average championship player at best.

Who was our top scorer last season?

1 in 4 is better than Saha's 1 in 11(?) or Cahill's 0 in 2011

1 in 4 in a minor league means absolutely **** all in the Premier League.

The Straq's goal scoring record was boss in the Argentinian league. Need I explain?

Anichebe. 7 goals in 93 games.

You were saying ?

How is the Liga Sagres a 'minor' or 'nondescript' league? The Europa League's top 4 last year were made up of 3 Portuguese teams? Not to mention Porto giving Barcelona a good challenge for the Super Cup. If logic says that players from 'minor' leagues from Portugual, Holland, Belgium, etc. are terrible and won't make it in the 'major' leagues of Spain and England then we should just ship Ronaldo back to Lisbon, Felliani back Belgium, Pienaar back to Cape Town, and Van der Vaart back to Ajax 'cause apparently they were useless in the EPL and La Liga.

The fact is that Straq, Silva, Felliani, Bily, are all risks. How were we suppose to know Felliani was going to be awesome and Bily was going to totally fail? We take chances with players based on their performances not on whether they're playing in a La Liga or EPL. Right now Silva is performing, he deserves a chance.

No, I also think he's a nuisance. A nuisance to all positivity.

What are you basing this off though? One league cup game?

Obviously I can only base it off what I have seen of him as well but he looked willing in the substitute appearances in the league thus far. He harries defences and forces them to make mistakes.

Im not saying he is brilliant or anything but it does make me laugh that people can judge him after what basically amounts to a game and a half.
