Shrek escapes FA rap

Common sense decision. Much-ado about nothing.

You cant seriously compare Rooney with that racist thug Barton either.

Not suprised in the slightest, he plays for one of the 'Sky 4' teams, is Englands number 9, so the rules state he is immune to punnishment. Alex Ferguson will also escape a ban I presume, even though he openly criticized the ref after the game. Im sick and tired of the top 4 teams getting treated differently from the rest of us.

lol in all honesty you cant fine/ban players for kissing a badge, no matter how who and when it is. He didnt provoke anything, he just made most ppl laugh. Hes just a grannny shagging fat little nobhead, best 30m we ever recieved. Thanks Shrek for Arteta, Cahill, Lescott, Pienaar, Yak, not a bad swop.

good decision, it could have been seen as provocative behaviour but i think it would have been a joke if he had of been punished

The funniest thing about the Rooney badge kissing lark is reading the utter [Poor language removed] that middle England scribe tabloids recite in reasoning why Shrek reacted the way he did . " When you come from were Wayne Rooney does you learn very quickly not to back down " ? ! So everyone who comes from Croxteth doesnt know how to laugh off people having a pop at them ? Christ these people live on another planet .

Personally i didnt join in with the " Fat little Knobhead " chant as i dont think he worth my breath he just look at him as a disgruntled little weirdo .

Bring on Bolton and for [Poor language removed] sake keep Tony Hibbert away from the Reebok(y)

Agree with that. As much as I do dislike Shrek, a ban would be inappropiate. You have to draw the line somewhere. Getting banned, for kissing a badge would really be setting a precedent. In a few years time a player would be banned for wearing the wrong coloured shoes.

I've heard enough about Rooney now. Time we ignored him when we play his crowd. That'll get to him more than giving him stick. He dont play for us anymore so [Poor language removed] him. He could have become a God but he chose to become a Devil. Enough said...

(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)Couldn't agree more. He just isn't worth the attention he's still getting.

Yeah lad, quite right. Sick of hearing about Mr Potato Head now. Lets face it, we have done better without him since he left. It was always Rooney this, Rooney that when he was at the club. Now we are a team and not just one individual grabbing all the headlines. Goodbye Shrek once and for all, FULL STOP!

Here, here i dislike shrek as much as the next man but to even compare those 2 just doesnt make sense.

If newcastle and the FA had any balls they'd have sacked and banned barton months ago..the fact that idiot is still allow to play professional football is the travesty here.

Oh get off your high horse, purl- eeez

Joey Barton is a tosser. Im not disputing that. I think this because he hates everton. He got pissed up and battered someone. Right. So he got sent to jail. Right. And he did his time. Right. And your saying he should never be allowed to return to his proffesion?

if a bank manager did the same thing, you'd all be saying he should do his time and then be wtf'ing if he was never allowed to return to his job.

Its no different. Joey Barton's proffesion is being a footballer. He did something wrong, and he payed for it. Now he should be allowed to get on with his life just like any other member of the public. Im not saying he doesnt deserve it, but the nature of his job means he's going to suffer a lot more than most other ex- timers. Why punish something thats already been punished. Let the lad learn from his mistakes, and get back to playing football.

To be fair I wasnt really comparing Rooney to Barton.

What I was comparing is that both did the same thing over the weekend, egged on the oposition fans which isnt allowed by the FA, and what the Ref told Rooney after he did it. Its just the same as taking you shirt off after scoring, jumping into the crowd, it gets a crowd riled up and could cause distrubtion in the crowd.

Which is what happened at Sunderland. Now, I'm not saying Barton instigated the kick of at Sunderland but he did himself no favours.

Now, if Barton got rapped for what he did and Rooney didnt wouldnt that lead to the questions that does it take a riot to make the FA take action?

Nothings been done against either players so lock the thread. What just reporting a bit of news.
