29 is not that old for a keeper, he wouldn't cost a large fee and if we get 4 or 5 good years out of him thats fine by me.

Has anyone mentioned karius from Mainz yet? Out of contract in the summer, so should be cheap and hailed as the the new Manuel Neuer.
Never seen him play, but the Guardian has an article on out of contract players and he was mentioned, so thought I would pretend I know what I'm talking about.

Iv been going on about him for a week or 2 now. Not sure if we are actualy interested or wether i just want us to be. He would be my 1st choice to go for

Keepers don't hit their prime until they're in their 30s.

Marshall is class but we will still need another CB, Alcaraz and Distin are done and Jagielka is not too far behind them imo.

When richard wright was in goal for us we were just poor, only until Nigel Martyn was in goal we did well.

Once peter schmeichel left manu, they were poor as they did not have a good keeper, until they got van der sar.

Howard has done well in the past, but his time has gone, we need a good keeper - defenders feel better with a good keeper behind them.

Do not understand what RM is waiting for - sign the players he needs now, not on the last day of the window.
This rate we will be in the bottom three by the end of the Palace game.

For me Howard is no longer a capable goalie. Age has caught up with him and we need a new keeper as I don't have much faith in Robles, he may come good but at the moment we need a proven keeper. Vorm would be a good shout if he wants to start instead of warming Spurs' bench, Marshall would also be a good choice.

Would love Cech but Marshall is more realistic as a target. Perfect age so we would get his best years. Watched a couple of Scotland games where he was decent as well as the 2 games against us.
