Should we loan Magaye Gueye to give him much needed experience??

Evening lads,

Was just thinking about Magaye Gueye and how we all thought he would be a future star. Don't get me wrong, he still has that potential, but he seems to have lost his pace. He has become a bit bigger and stronger, but his main skill was pace and that has changed now.

Surely Moyesy should send him on loan, possibly to a championship team where he will play regular games, in order to give him some much needed experience. Reserve team football wont benefit the lad all too much.

I know we dont exactly have a big enough squad to be sending many players on loan, but if we want him to develop as a player, he needs some regular first team football of some sort.

It's hard to say, since we'll have no cover once Donovan leaves. That's assuming Drenthe will start playing on the right.

Look what it did for Coleman and Duffy.

More over, I think sending Barkley on loan would do wonders for him. He needs regular games as well.

Absolutely. He can gain confidence in the lower leagues, and could potentially earn his place to replace Pienaar when he leaves at the end of the year.

Especially since Darrons come in, he probably needs the loan more. We dont have as much depth in the wings so Magaye will get a game every so often

I don't think he's a winger. He just doesn't have that explosiveness. He's a decent player though, maybe he'd be better suited to the middle?

Aye, I've never really seen him take someone on on the dribble either, but I do remember one sub appearance when he was playing more centrally and played a good ball through to Baines on the overlap. His crosses never seemed that good either.

I don't think it would hurt to let BOTH Vellios and Gueye to go out on loan provided we could recall them if another injury bug hits.

Exactly. We're not exactly swimming in wingers/strikers right now. I'd like to have Gueye in particular around just in case somebody gets an injury and we can avoid seeing Osman on the wing. Or heaven forbid, Cahill.

Gueye on loan...absolutely. Vellios too...could do him wonders. Barkley...I say no at this point...too good...too polished. Will make a difference for us at some point. Baxter...loan him out too.
