For taking their kids out of school to go on holiday during term time.
I tend to agree with you mate. No, parents work and sometimes it's unavoidable. Money as well, some can't afford peak time holidays during the summer. Punish parents for kids being little sh1ts not for hols.
I agree but then what do you say to the other parents when someone returns from holiday and distrupts the rest of the class while trying to catch up on studies.....I think much depends on the circumstances (age of children, where they are with studies, where are they going on holiday etc). Ultimately, if the circumstances aren't right it's the children who are being punished.
I tend to agree with you mate.
I'm wondering if something will ever be done about those ghastly holiday companies charging extortionate prices.
Or if one of them will go for some good PR and keep prices the same. Surely the extra custom they'd get would make up the profits.
Either way, something should be done.
Yes there is that.As a family we holiday during peak season and from what I see everywhere is just about sold out. At the end of day it's supply and demand.
Its not a punishment, it's a stealth tax.For taking their kids out of school to go on holiday during term time.
From the perspective of a teacher, it is MASSIVELY disruptive to a child's education to have them go on holiday during term time. I understand entirely that package holidays cost significantly more during school holidays, (remember this affects teachers, TAs, MDSAs just as much) but I personally don't understand why some people place the importance of going on holiday over and above the importance of education. The vast majority of the country understand this and abide by the rules. As for the few that don't.... well, it's their children who will ultimately suffer. We normally punish people who cause deliberate suffering to children, don't we?Its not a punishment, it's a stealth tax.
