Should I Sell Or Should I Keep?

Thinking of selling my old records as I rarely play them any more and they will fetch a tidy sum on Ebay. Lots of original vinyl including The Clash, Sex Pistols, very early U2, The The, Jesus and Mary Chain etc. One record by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu could fetch around £250. A bit of me feels like I am selling part of my youth - but I could do with the money. Should I sell now or wait until their value rises?

List them on: https://www.discogs.com/ rather than Ebay mate

other than the MuMu one, have you actually checked whether they are worth that much?

quite often, people value them much higher than they are actually worth. pretty sure I have the original Psychocandy and paid about £7 for it

I know what you mean that emotional value can influence your idea of monetary value. A lot of the records are limited edition or imports so they are worth more than basic UK versions. Discogs is really good to research and price. The albums are averaging between £20-25 and the singles around £15.

Fair enough, thats a decent amount then.

i just been in record shops before when some bloke rocks up with a big bag of Beatles and Bowie records, thinking he has a small fortune and they get valued at £2 each

Thing is with stuff like that it was sold in huge numbers so unless it's like a stereo copy of Please Please Me or a low number of the White album or the odd few promo things it's generally foreign pressings and the such like where the money is. It's all about the research with records as I am sure you know.
