Saw him at Goodison today.

Made me think, be interesting if he started looking at English players in the Championship.

Cant do much worse.

If theres some that can do a job then why not?
Would make a nice change rather than watching Sterling, Hart, Wilshere et al bottling it like usual

...I think historically very few players come into the squad from the lower leagues simply because the greater talent play at the top level. I suspect SA will have an uncomplicated team model so if there's a specialist in a particular role (goalkeeper) then he might recruit from the Championship.

SA is a total fiddler, he has experts on everything round him from psychologists to chiropodists. He produces dossiers for each player, what to do and how to play in his preferred system. I am certain that he will have reports on every player even those remote from selection. His son acts as an agent, no doubt he will do the same thing and make papers available for dad.

Many years ago I was privy to a stand up shouting match between SA and John Aldridge........................language was what you'd expect but SA put JA in his place big time, I nearly gave him a round of applause, he said something like 'you were a lucky player and by Christ you are a lucky manager, today your side were sh-- and you F in L know it as h ole'. JA stammered like mad but SA just went on putting him in his place, it was great. To this day I doubt if two people in football could hate the site of each other more than those two.

He has my eternal respect and servitude.
