Arteta, Rodwell, Bily, Baines and Ossie have decent strikes on them, but they don't do it often enough. Cahill should be banned from shooting from distance. He always gets it horribly wrong. I still think that Heitinga could be our secret weapon from freekicks with an Alex-style thunderbolt.

I agree. We souls blitz the goal every game. We have 90mins, it only takes a few seconds and a bit of smart thinking to get a shot on.

I want to see spectacular goals and great moments of professionals doing the most natural thing in the game.

I think Rodwell is encouraged to shoot from outside of the box when the chance arises. Everyone else seems to be under orders not to try it though.

This thread just inspired me to go watch Baines' freekick against Chelsea again on youtube. What a beaut. Fell down a youtube rabbit hole then and ended up watching Baines v Spurs, Arteta v Hull,Fiorentina,Villareal, Bilyaletdinov v United, Portsmouth, Manny F v United.

Its a valid point mate. We're forever fannying about with the ball within shooting range, just outside the area. We definitely need to mix it up, if you don't buy a ticket and all that...
