About 8 years ago myself and some mates were chilling in a park at about 2am (as you do...), we were all pretty mashed but still functional. It was close to pitch black but one of my mates spotted two lights across the river about 200 metres away. We didn't think much of it at first but another mate said he thought he could hear noise coming from that direction so we shut up and watched the lights for a couple of minutes and then sure enough we started hearing digging sounds from the same direction. The lights which we presumed were torches continued to flash about randomly as did the periodic digging sounds. After about ten minutes the drunkest of my mates decided to unleash a giant mong roar similar to that blue thing out of stopit and tidyup, the torches instantly switched off and from this moment on we didn't see any more lights or hear anymore noises... Whatever they were doing they had instantly stopped once they heard the loud noise, naturally this made us even more suspicious of what two people were doing at 2am with torches digging around on a river bank. About twenty minutes later we decided to leave the park and head home, as we exited the gates onto the road a car with two people in pulls upto us and an Irish guy opens his passenger window and says "now lads, you got to remember what you saw and didn't saw" before promptly driving off before we could respond.

Needless to say this freaked us all out, one mate swears the irish guy had dirt on him but no one else noticed or picked up on this. The next morning a couple of mates went down to the river bank where we saw the torches flashing and had a look around but the river was now covering the area where the torches were so they left and that was that. Probably doesnt sound that scary to ya'll but it definitely shat us up at the time and every year or so someone in our cru brings it up and we still get weirded out by it.

Always wondered if we should have reported it or not.

Scary; going along the Motorway outside lane 95mph, nearside rear tyre blew out, lucky I was frontwheel drive or it's all over rover. Lucky there was enough room between the outside lane and crash barrier ( a good 5 or 6 foot on this section ) for me to swerve a bit, not hit the barrier and pinball all over the motorway. Lucky it was dry 4.30pm and stone cold sober.
Made my way to hard shoulder just intime for the shakes to begin., couldn't even get the nut socket on the nut for the shakes, said to number one son DO NOT TELL YOUR MOTHER.

Came off motorway at next exit pulled in first pub and gave keys to number one son, you drive I'll drink
