For us non climbers though watching that gives us the same sensation as just after someone has kicked us in the scrote.
maybe if 1 of them had toileted and broke it up with a rock it would have sufficed ?
As the 2 resident 'Altituders' I think you should be posting some rock face pics, Mrs Esk must have some great Eiger ones ?

Smearing is a necessity not a choice in high-altitude mountaineering. The only alternative is to curl one in a plastic bag and stuff it in your mates rucksack without him noticing.
Anyway - here's a proper climb....Ueli Steck speed climbing the north face of the Eiger.

my mate freefalls out of helicopters down that, and then does that touching down on patches of snow with skis & taking off again thing.
with a parachute obviously.
