They are all too pretty, the people near and below the poverty line in the UK took a queue from those near the pov line in the states and simply piled the pounds (weight, not sterling) on. Not one fat belter seen yet, might as well be the Kardashians and all their vacuous BS.

The UK has much more decency and pride than to rip off anything sacred to the US TV market. Could you imagine a UK version of 'mad men' or 'nip tuck'. Or worse. USA Shameless isn't grimey enough.

Whilst I'm not a fan of American Networks, and their quantity over quality approach, you're striking me as yet another person to review this show not on its own merits, but instead as some kind of transatlantic competition.

I suppose I'm a fool to say it shouldn't be compared to the original when it has the same name, character names and premise, but it really is its own thing. Obviously I'm not a massive fan of the original so I have a different perspective, but the acting in this show is top notch. As is the writing.

I'm not meaning to have a go, but I'm a total TV nut, and as such I'm passionate about it. And this is honestly a quality show, and I just want people to have a watch.

I shall be. I hardly watch TV to be honest, but Shameless is something I watch. I know its a pretty bizarre comedy type programme, but the acting in the UK version is also, pretty immense I think

I look forward to seeing who portrays this man? Or do they not really do all the characters?
