Since there's a break in today's forum entertainment (England YAY! England BOO!) I thought I'd start a thread for to share any personal severe weather stories that you may have. Have you ever been hit by lightening? Is right if so. Caught in hurricanes, floods or tsunamis? Share it here.

Oh here we go, heres where chicomelt tells us abar the force 50 storm he sat through in Bootle in 2009.

I love storms. One evening in Cancun i sat watching a boss electrical storm in the gulf.

I sat there drinking whisky, it was tremendous.

It was, went on for hours. The sky just lit up all evening.

Also flew around Atlantic city for 40 mins waiting to land into New York due to a thunder storm. I was proper excited shouting " did you see the lightning then" the wife and other people around me were begging me to put the blind down.

Planes can take it, the bloody pussies.

Also flew around Atlantic city for 40 mins waiting to land into New York due to a thunder storm. I was proper excited shouting " did you see the lightning then" the wife and other people around me were begging me to put the blind down.

Planes can take it, the bloody pussies.

It's a good part of the world for that, especially it rainy season which should be starting there now funny enough.

People were genuinely crying on the plane, the lightning was close and fierce like. But, the plane and engines are designed to take a hit.

I've been in a few aircraft engine factories and seen the tests they do, so it was fine for me.

You give me confidence. Do have any concerns with your inside knowledge about aircraft engines?

Just that both Rolls Royce and GE have boss lawyers, and even if they were to blame they would get of it.

Seriously, the only issue is with maintenance. That's why planes crash if they are not maintained. Proper safe way to travel.

Surely you must have some concerns though, some sort of horrific warning that would make us think twice of travelling by air?

Being stuck in the middle of Aldridge and John Barnes and the seatbelt light to be on and i was dying for a burst.
