Seventeen year old lad fatally shot in Wavertree

Last night at 8:30pm a lad was shot in the back just off Smithdown Road. The shooting is believed to have been targeted. The lad was apparently Scottish but lived locally.

He was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Amazing that this goes on.

Tbf it's been quieter in that sense for a few years.

Doesn't change anything for this lads family though, RIP.
 
I got off the bus home from the game and walked just past there at 8:20, never would have guessed what was about to happen! Worth avoiding if you're driving that way today.
 

Sad this.

Taxi on the way home from town last night had to divert as edge lane was cordoned off. Must have been because of this.

Shame all of those extra 'required' police for the derby were busy elsewhere.

Not a bad point this. If you wanted to commit a crime in South Liverpool, why not wait til all the resources were up in Walton?

Thing is though, I bet he 'earned' his ending. Would be very surprised if he hasn't got links to local drugs gangs. People don't generally just shoot randoms in the street. This isn't America ffs.
