So seven games in and we are near the foot of the table.

The statistics keep coming fast, especially about our poor defense record. Question is, have we really been that poor? And is there need to panic?

Everton[/URL] 2-2 Arsenal
Everton 3-6 Chelsea
West Brom 0-2 Everton
Everton 2-3 Crystal Palace
Liverpool 1-1 Everton
Man Utd 2-1 Everton

Before the games of Chelsea, Liverpool & Manchester United - I had predicted defeats. Simply due to our away stance at the Sh1te & United. Chelsea clearly are the best team, but conceding early goals didn't help us... To be fair, apart from De Gea, we could have quite easily stole three points from Old Trafford yesterday.

I had predicted a point gainst Leicester... this proved correct. They were the newboys and was always bound to be a tough game for a starter. Our fitness issues were the main reason why we didn't get all three points.

Arsenal & Crystal Palace in my eyes are the only dissapointments. Arsenal at home, after last season, left me upbeat - it should of been the same but thanks to a poor pre-season, we just didn't have the fitness (again). Palace should of been three points - though after Europa, you can kind of understand why. Though it was still a very poor result, and one which shouldn't be repeated..

So from my predictions before games, we should have ten points. We only have six.

Need for panic? What do you think?

Plus side:
in the 7 games, we've got 4 out of the 5 toughest games out of the way (Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U)......

Negative side:
we failed to repeat the wins we got against Chelsea, Arsenal & United last season...those were the results that allowed us challenge the top 4 last season....

Panic? No
Boot up ass for Howard? Yes
Drastic rethink of Lukaku's playbook? Yes

I'm not going to say the same for Distin as I no longer consider him a player for Everton Football Club and I actually think Jags has improved lately, albeit still nowhere near his average, let alone his best.

We've had worse starts. Back in 2005 we only had Bent and Beattie, two players I really wish I could forget about, and had taken just 3 points from the the first 24!

Our next three fixtures were a mixture of impossible, challenging and unpredictable.

Chelsea (H)
Brum (A)
Boro (H)

We got 7 points, and we were in much worse nick then compared to now. At least now we can score and hit back if we go behind. Back then, conceding first meant an automatic defeat or a rare draw.

One thing for certain Both teams to score to nailed on going forward. Lumpon

Beating Villa is an absolute must. We need to get a win and get our first win at home. The poor performances every week and lack of confidence has got to end sometime right!?
