Set Piece Taker...?

Alio

They call me Avocado Baby
With players coming back from injury, players coming into form....and finally players coming in on loan

Who'd be best taking our set pieces?

Donovan seems to be taking our corners at the moment, which have looked good from what I've seen....but will Arteta take them again?

Pienaar scored a beaut of a direct free kick the other week, and Baines has scored a few in the past...maybe just the 1 for us, against Portsmouth was it? Remember him rattling one in for Wigan against Man Utd once from 30+ yards...

I even remember Bily getting 3 or 4 assists on his debut, is he in with a chance?

Heitinga seems to take them from slightly deeper

Who would have taking corners, free kicks from deep, and free kicks from within scoring range?

Should Arteta (provided they are back to his best) take them all?

Where's Stubbs when you need someone to blast one in.......

There are ways to work around our crossing problems. Do not cross from deep, try to work our way into the box and deliver crosses from there, don't always cross to the head, put in low cross and get someone to sneak in and attack from near post, pull the ball back to create a favourable shooting chance.
I'm sure they can work out more solution in training.

Has Johnny actually hit a good freekick yet? I may have missed it but all I can remember are very long run-ups and the ball blasting into the wall or the back of the stands?

Got to be Arteta, Donovan and Billy

(Billy's first ever corner in Europe got me very excited about things to come but he has failed to deliver ever since!)

1 i remember was good.

personnely iam not that bothered who takes them as most set piece specalists have a in different sucess ratio, idont know may be 1 in 5 at best.

for me its just a refreshing change to have a couple of opions at set pieces instead of the infamous cant beat the first man routine

Maybe all our set pieces are poor because what we are trying to do with them. Billys first few were good when he was new so he didn't know what we try to do so he just put it in a dangerous spot.
