I have been told from work that i can't have Everton games off anymore, i am a season ticket holder and went to 12 or 13 aways last season, so i am proper gutted by them saying this as going to watch Everton home and away is what i love to do. I'm only on minimum wage and a 20hour contract and i am seriously thinking about quitting and looking for a new job. I am so stuck with what to do..

What do i do??

serious question, in order to give you an appropriate response

what do you do ?

If it's minimum wage and 20hrs a week, you should be looking for another job anyway really.

How the hell you afford to follow everton home and away on that is beyond me, like.

well i get 23/24 hours a week but sometimes i get more overtime, plus i still live at home with my dad.

should really try and have put it in the contract that you wouldn't work everton games. I know it sounds a bit odd but it's 2 lots of 90 mins per week tops that you're asking for off... Now you have no leg to stand on, it's either grin and bear it or just find a new job.

don't think that's how it works these days mate, shop floor assistants don't really "negotiate terms" as much as they used to

I know, it's an odd request, and one I'm unlikely to make at the moment as well, but it's hardly a greater salary or a whole day off, it's a couple of hours on maximum 2 days a week. It's obvious his bosses were alright with the idea as it was, but not having it in the contract means that they can just change it as it is...

This is a dilemma. Everton are our life so I understand you. You must be full of hatred for them right now! Even I am and I don't know them! You can't leave because with no money you can't follow them anyway, you need to look for a job right now, start searching. Are these people kopites mate?

Oh yea, erm, if you're up for it are you joining my crew?

If he's going home and away then depending on where the shop is, he's basically asking not to work saturdays like. A trip to London will rule him out that day.

I don't know, but I'm guessing his bosses haven't said "right, whenever Everton play, you have to work"

it's probably more that they're now wanting him to work certain hours that clash with most match times
