Croatia vs England for a chance at the final. Bet nobody called that!

Seems a very evenly matched game from my perspective.

Should make for a good match. I doubt with 3 full days of rest the extra time will play a part on Wednesday.

So is Croatia going to continue their improbable run or is it coming home as you lot like to say?

Should be fun.

For me it's a tale of two Jordans.

Croatia are a talented, experienced yet ageing team. They had a number of players struggling in extra time with fitness issues. We have every right to be weary of Modric and Rakotic, but so should their back 4 be weary of the threat we pose.

Another lucky penalty for England that, unbelievably, gets the Golden Boot for Kane.

Yes tbf Croatia started the tournament as one of the better looking sides but have since looked far from that, looking very ordinary against both Denmark and Russia. Maybe its nerves or age but they've looked stilted and inhibited.

I really think we start favourites as we are now looking ever more confident with the players buying into the system and the performances improving.

It all points to us moving in the better direction and having too much for them.

France have also looked very average in four games and very decent in just the one against a really poor Argentina.

I would now fancy our chances against them more than against Belgium tbh but think our chances against either far far better than just a punchers one.

I really think we'll make the final and could now win it too.
 
A total 50/50 game.

England will never have a better chance to reach a World Cup final in my lifetime. I think Croatia edge it though - I think England will make the mistake of playing cautious and trying to win it later, assuming Croatia will tire after that extra time. Problem with that is they aren't good enough in midfield to do it IMO.
