Anyone watch this? I'm talking about the real life programs that are running on nearly every channel, yet are clearly all scripted and none of it happens. Some great examples of these sorts of shows are;

PAWN STARS- Everyone goes to sell wierd and wonderful items in one specific pawn shop in Las Vegas. Except they clearly don't.

Duck Dynasty- Decent if you look past the predictable 'story' of the episode.

Storage Hunters / Wars- People bidding on storage locks at auction. Except one filled with junk will have a 1800's priceless antique sitting in the back in a box or something like that.

Loads more to be honest, including a Removal men version of Storage wars.

Thoughts? Anyone watch these religiously? the illusion was well and truely shattered when they had some fella on Pawn Stars trying to sell 2 ultra rare NES games, except the guy is a youtube star who is famous for collecting NES game sand stuff, so clearly wouldn't be pawning the things.

the car reposession one falls under this banner doesn't it ?? Lizard Licks ???

I don't mind a bit of storage hunters when I'm just letting my tea digest, it's all good wholesome fun, but obviously fake as ya say

MONEY !!!

i tend to watch storage wars / hunters when i need something to watch but mainly for the people on it rathe rthen the show.

Like barry from storage hunters(or wars). He is quite funny, like one episode he flew a drone into the storage lot to see whats in it and ended up crashing it inside.

YYYEEEEEAAAAPPPPPPPP

Like Pawn stars, dont think its that scripted, they do get like a 1000 people through the door per day so they just show the most random stuff

Storage hunters is definetly jarg, even though they say for every 1 good locker they show they buy another 10 that arent good. Its all too fishy, they'll be like a locker full of dirty mattress's and clothes, oh and a 17th century golden locket worth 10grand

Duck dynasty i did like when it was just rich rednecks shooting and blowing stuff up, then they started to add storylines

The reality shows that grate on me that are painfully scripted are the ones the birds watch like the kardashians and desperate scousewives, towie, etc. Yet they actually believe them and think there real life

I have an unhealthy obsession with these, Storage Wars and Storage Hunters, Operation Repo, Pawn Stars, American Restoration and Counting Cars.

I have just ditched sky though so I'm like a junkie going cold turkey.

Some of his prices for restorations arent arf salty.

Like counting cars and that fast n loud one

All variations on the same themes -- other people's junk, rednecks or car towing. Boring as [Poor language removed].

I did notice after Pawn stars (probably like the 5th or 6th one) that they are realistically all the same program. Same hidden gems type show, characters talking to the camera in between shots retrospectivly and something out of the ordinary happening. All in 20 odd minutes!

Pawn stars is fake though, or at least they have actors/stages come into the store to show off something (for e.g the NES NERD from youtube) to make it look more exclusive than it is.

dont get me wrong, i do watch some of them myself so not really slagging them off as such. Just wish they were more realistically shot.

Oh and the Duck Dynasty episode where the old fella ate more pancakes (or whatever they were) than the rest, bought a raffle ticket and ended up winning the caravan later that day!

If you don't think Lizard Lick Towing is the 2nd greatest American tv show ever (behind America's Dumbest Criminals, obvs) then I want to fight you.

There's a couple of treasure hunter shows and every show they find a treasure with a metal detector and a minimum of digging. Awful programs. And those duck dynasty people should die in fire. Millionaires pretending to be hillbillies and acting stupid with terrible scripting to make even more money from the tv show itself and by just being an advert for their duck calls

the only one I ever watched religiously was American chopper then the snr v jnr one. used to buy the model bikes for my son.
