Thing is i back Everton on this as long as they dont pick on people who have done nothing wrong, anyone blaging it deserves to be caught out. Anyone who is legit i would make sure i carry photo ID so if any hot head stewards try and act like James Cagney you can put them in there place without any problems.

The outrageous prices they now charge (at every Prem club), in essence taking the club away from many working class people who spent years following the blues through thick & thin (mostly thin), basically meaning if they have a family to support but don't have a well paid job, they can't go the game..

I know many blues in that position and it just isn't right.

And it was these working class people going back many generations who built Everton to what we are today.

So if any of these hard up blues manage to blag their way in with a concession ticket. Then I applaud them loudly..

Also wipe my backside with anybody who disagrees with any of that.

How does that make it more expensive for others?

The price doesn't go up because a few skint blues got in on a cheaper ticket..

Football has been taken away from its roots. While in doing so has been taken away from the poorest.

And it was some of the poorest who flocked to Goodison for over 100 years.


This is not a dig at the club. Because although they're part of the problem.. They couldn't exactly go it alone to cater for the not so well off..

Everton, like all the other clubs, have been dragged into charging increased ticket prices largely as a result of the Premier League pandering to Sky and thus getting sucked into paying outrageously overpriced transfer fees and wages.

Add in the (b1tch) Thatcher government decision, post Hillsborough and Heysel, to make stadia all-seaters, reducing capacity and forcing ticket prices up... and towards being out of the reach of the 'working class' - political actions designed to keep the working class down or reduce their disposable income in such a way as to mean we have to tow the line, work more hours and therefore be less inclined to take industrial action in the cause for fairer workers rights and better wages !!!!
