This is my opinion....

We've got a top striker - yes sometimes one that is lazy - but he still know where the goal is.
We've got a top defender in Stones and a decent right back in Coleman. Garbutt - if he stays is more than capable of reaching Coleman's standard at left back and we've got Jags, who is Jags, so I'd say we've got these four, plus Baines as defenders that are good enough.

McCarthy and Besic are two good holding midfielders but we need cover in that position desperately - Barry is ageing and Gibson is too injury prone. Definitely need one holding midfielder.

Howard needs replacing sooner rather than later, so a goalkeeper is needed to challenge with Joel.

Barkley, at the moment, is too inconsistent to be our playmaker and Naismith is more of a grinder than a playmaker, so I think this is the position we need to strength the most. We need to top class playmaker to giveRom service up front, rather than just lumping it up to him or passes it 100 times before he gets it.

On the wings - well if Mirallas goes and Lennon costs 9m then we need two if not three wingers here. I think you need to have two top wingers and one winger that is capable of challenging. McGeady isn't capable before anyone says that. Pienaar is past it too...

Basically, we need a keeper, centre half, right back, striker and holding midfielder.

And then we need a top class playmaker and two top wingers.

I think we need seven new signings at the least, to challenge where we want to be next season.

Having said that, I don't know how many of the youth team players will step up next season. Henen, Green, Long Browning, Galloway?
