That is so true. We watch it probably too much!

Love all the little cameos. Like Cox & Jordans kid is actually Bill Lawrences son. Loads of the smaller parts are not actors at all, but crew members. Lenny, the black, one handed security guard is also the Producer. Tons of the doctors with one line every now and then are writers or gaffers.

In the Barbados episodes, Bill Lawrences Dad is in it. All the hotel staff and locals are really the residents of the island they were on. And they chose the island because Bill Lawrence has a house there. As do his parents.

Jordan is Bill Lawrences wife. All of the medical conditions are 100% accurate. Even the Musical episode.

And it is filmed in a real, allbeit disused, hospital. And Sacred Heart was the drama school Jordan went to in NYC.

Should stop watching it me thinks!

Yeah, loads of little things like that. Bill Lawrence was also the guy sweeping outside the hospital on JDs goodbye. I think Lloyd the delivery guy was a producer or something too. He appeared quite a few times.
Ted's a cappella band was actually his a cappella band from real life!
Love Spin City too which Lawrence was part of, so the appearances from quite a few of the actors from that is great too, such as Richard Kind (Paul Lassiter in SC) who played the hypochondriac.
The midget who the janitor hung around with was called Randall Winston...also the Mayors name in Spin City, and also the real name of one of the directors!

Not watched them in a while, going to have to revisit them now!

It's the little details which the best. A little bit similar to the Simpsons in how you often notice something different each time you watch it.
Just had a look at the trivia page on IMDB and spotted this....

Creator Bill Lawrence has said in interviews that he wanted "Scrubs" to be almost like a live-action The Simpsons (1989), not only in the style of humor but also with the numerous high-profile guests and a fairly large cast of recurring characters. In a 2006 episode, J.D. commented that Grey's Anatomy (2005) was so realistic that "it's almost like someone was watching our lives and put it on television," a joke borrowed from an early '90s "The Simpsons" episode saying the same of Dinosaurs (1991).

About half of The Janitors lines are ad libs, made up on the spot by him. In real life, he is an improvisation comic in LA!

Some cool little factlets there! Didn't know about the Spin City cross over. This prob belongs in the 'Almost famous people you almost know' thread, but last May be and a mate were in New York for the w/e and it started chucking it down mid afternoon. We were looking for somewhere dry to stand and saw Richard Kind walking down the street, looking like a particularly moody wet rat in shorts and a t-shirt!

Haha cool. Love the episode when he tells JD he's the guy who killed Harrison Ford's wife in The Fugitive.

Anyhow, one of my fave scenes:

Got loads of useless trivia about it. Me and Mrs R have the box set, which has tons of extra stuff on it.

Like, for example, in the Musical episode, Judy Reyes, (Carla), had a broken hip, so hardly moved during the show. The dance scene with Turk was filmed 5 months later.

The Janitor was never in the pilot script as a main character. The "penny in the door" incident was designed to show how bewildered JD was at his first day.

When a guest star, cant remember her name, but she played Elliots mate from college, and let JD make out with her, but nothing else, was in the show, she was 6 months pregnant.
