Defo played loads of reserves v spurs in the semi final. As I said, was the first time I think it had sunk in what we were missing in Europe, and seeing them win it after getting us banned was a real kick in the teeth- hence the fans reaction at the end. Mind you in fairness although we missed the opportunity to compete in the European cup that Barnes Beardsley Houghton team would probably have won it again too so they missed out too. No sympathy like as it was their own fault but at least it ended their European dominance

it was mentioned that folk covered their eyes when big nose got the ball but christ those 3 could tear a team to shreds with ridiculous pace.

Typical Everton in the 80s that competition. Managed to lose yet another final to the RS to go with 2 fa cups and a league cup and to rub it in they had the trophy presented to them on our pitch with about 12000 RS in our ground out of the 26000 at the game. Horrific to think we won the title that season yet they still get a trophy presentation at Goodison.

They should have been banned from all competition domestic and European!

Talking about heysal, it never gets mentioned or remembered by Liverpool fans ironically? Which is a bit dissapointing as you'd think they of all people would have a memorial each anniversary for it.
