What has happened to Scotland? Seeing Griffiths as their no. 1 strike is appalling. Growing up there was at least a dozen quality Scotland strikers vying for two places. From the top of my head I recall:
Sharp, Gray, Dalglish, Nicholas, Brazil, McCoist, Mo Johnston, Black , McInally, McGhee, Jordan and Archibald in the mid 80's. Mind boggling to what they have now. Have I missed anyone?

You're not far wrong.

One of my best mates is Glaswegian. He says that across Scotland virtually all the old " red ash " footy pitches have been ripped up and built on, meaning nowhere for kids to play footy on. The net result is that many kids in Scotland don't play at all and choose sitting in their room with a gram of smack and a bottle of Bucky as an alternative.

in fairness I was half serious . It's the same in England as well . Lots of talented lads chose drugs and ale over football

I don't think drugs are necessarily the problem in Scotland. Rather it's the case that young chaps aren't prepared to put in the hard work that's required to be a top pro.
Also the clubs are abandoning youth systems in favour of buying second rate foreigners.
