Sadly without significant financial backing we wont get near in the league anytime soon. I would love it but have to be realistic. Sure I read somewhere that Celtics wage bill is more than all the rest of the top flight Scottish league teams combined. Dont quote that as fact though. Hopefully we'll finish 2nd and could well have the Scottish cup in May, hopefully after beating Dundee United. Either of those give us European football again, just need to hope the draw doesnt come up with Aberdeen v Everton if it gets to that stage.

I realise a lot of people down south dont think the Scottish league is any good. Sure I read on this thread its a pub league. If you were to watch some then you'd see that some of the games are better matches than ones Sky and BT hype up down south. Due to the finances Celtic have compared to everyone sadly there wont be anyone near them anytime soon but anyone can beat anyone up here. We beat Celtic in the cup just to lose two weeks later to Partick who hadnt won at home all season till then. There is a lot of young talent coming through though. Peter Pawlett (Baby), Ryan Jack and Cammy Smith are three off the top of my head at Aberdeen that will get a big move down south in the future. Theres Andy Robertson & Ryan Gauld at Dundee United who have already been linked to Goodison. Im sure there will be a lot of big names in the future that learnt their trade up here like James McCarthy did

24 points, Mikey. They could murder the entire celtic first team squad and still not win the league. They can finish 2nd and win both cups which would be a marvelous season for them but celtics lead is unchippable.

Only 6 points now a year later

Well in The Dons to cut the gap by 18 points. A genuine credit to them

Looks like they won't catch them now, but what an effort to get even where they are now. Should Rangers fail to get promoted this season, they may do even better next season

It's down to 3 points now, but Celtic have a game in hand. Shame they got knocked out of the EL as that could have hampered their league form

I can't see them slipping up again really

They'll win that game in hand

Aberdeens only hope is to beat Celtic in their final League fixture and hope they somehow slip up after the split against one of the other top 6 sides, while winning all their outstanding games

It's a huge ask that. Aberdeen will drop more points. It's just too much to ask for them to win all their remaining fixtures

Yeah I agree, it would be great but I can't see Celtic slipping up!

Scottish football still going?
