Oh here we go shouting with capitals, your usual tactics🤣

Just highlighting that Liverpool University researched the sectarian problem in Liverpool, as you completely ingnored everyone else who hascommented on it, and focused on my friends dad.

Still, what do Liverpool University know abot Liverpool? You were there, on the front line.

Has it occured to you that the street parties you saw in your Shangri-la, with people coming out with tables and chairs, were the Toxteth Riots, and people had looted a local funrniture store? šŸ˜

You have a Rangers fan like ability to completely ignore actual questions, and waffle utter Scheidt in response.

Still, when someone denies the experiences of people on this forum, my friends father, and actual research by Liverpool University, that's LIVERPOOL UNIVERSITY!, and claims anti-Irish bigotry didn't happen in his area, I suppose you can't expect too much in the way of humanity...

There's a lot of Everton-Liverpool stuff there in the context of Glasgow football culture with the usual findings. Uses good sources too. Good find that mate. Worth a read as the thesis is online (last chapter 'Everton and Liverpool: the New Gods' - chapter 9 the relevant one if your just looking for a discussion on Merseyside football culture).

You are 100% correct mate. I'm not sure how much you know of the history of the two clubs in Liverpool, but Protestant chauvinism is rooted into the very essence of Liverpool FC.

They were founded by a Orange Lodge leader, a likely Mason on the basis of wanting to screw money out of tenants and a hatred of an idea that Catholics should also be allowed to be involved.

They then had minimal support in the city initially, and built their club on Protestant scabs, who didn't have the integrity or basic decency to support a club that reflected the entire community.

It's very rooted into one of the clubs in the city, fortunately Everton, much like Celtic stand for something better.

I knew that traditionally Livepool were the Protestant team, and Everton were the Catholic team. I knew there had been a dispute over rent, leading to Everton leaving Anfield, but I didn't know about the landlord wanting to screw tennants for money, or not wanting Catholics to be involved.

Someone posted earlier that Celtic were like Liverpool. In the 70's and 80's Celtic fans used to sing Liverpool. Liverpool. you're the Scheidt of Merseyside to the tune of Bread of Heaven.

Thanks Dave. l'll look at that during the week.

Unfortunately, all research on the subject of sectrianism in Liverpool has been completely debunked by Larbert Toffee. šŸ™‚

I cant believe Nancy hasn't been sacked yet.

Surely it cant go beyond today?

He should have been sacked after the game. .

I can understand a board wantng to give a new appointment time, but the way he's completely Flecked things up after Martin O'Neil's short spell has been incredibly bad.

I've read the Roberts thesis before. The key is that it uses a lot of diverse sources to get to conclusions - in fact, his original research is kept to a minimum there and he uses the work of others, so it's not strictly speaking his own work - but that's permissible if you acknowledge those you take from.

As I say: chapter 9 is probably the relevant chapter if football and all that stuff is your thing.

Its gone too far. This is a law and order issue now.

I cant believe the Celtic board dont know that and haven't acted immediately. Their positions are irrelevant in all this as the well-being of players, manager and fans are paramount - or should be - at any football club. If anything happens on that score they'll have to own it.

I watched the last 20 mins or so and you're correct they seemed to have an absence of tactics and Falkirk were taking the game to them.
If Aberdeen were half decent they could be pushing the OF and capital clubs this season and be in the mix, it's that kind of season, you must feel they're missing out on the excitement.
Motherwell are doing what the Dons should be doing.
They,Motherwell, done similar when rangers were climbing the leagues.
Don't know were the money is going at pittodrie, euro money and lots of sell out games.
