morning neil enjoy Scotland look for birds of prey.

First things first - beware the midgies. Depending on where you are they can descend like a black cloud of death this time of the year. Cairngorms wouldn't be the worst spot for them, but read up on how to repel them if you're out hiking etc.

Some amazing walks in the Caringorms if you're an outdoors man - take your pick of the Munro's. Ben MacDui is a good starter if you're reasonably fit - can park in the ski centre and walk in on a good track - 2nd highest mountain in the UK.

Edinburgh is a class city and you'll easily find stuff to do - alehouses aren't the best IMHO but I'm a bit of an arlarse at heart who likes good ale and tranquility. The Cloisters down from Tollcross is good if this is your thing. If you're looking for more lively places then you can take your pick in the grassmarket, Rose St etc.

I've just asked her and she doesn't know that place lid but you'll be sound.

Make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes, a charged up camera, anti ginger spray and enjoy.

Loch Morlich is a nice place to spend a few hours, quiet wee beach next to it.

Like BBJ said, Ben MacDui is a cracking walk and the view when you get to the top makes the walk worthwhile

Get yourself into Aviemore of an evening and get a few single malts down your neck, you're in the right place for it. After that, Edinburgh is a cracking place to go too, it's probably my favourite city in Britain, especially during the Festival. Get yourself up to the Meadows and see some street performances.
