scotland will be poorer and per head will have to pay a hell of a lot more.internationaly they will have less clout.

england will be richer in one sense , but both countries are stronger as a union.
bad mistake.

They'd never be allowed near the EU as pretty much every major EU country has its own seperatists who would gain legitimacy if Scotland were allowed in the EU.

If Scotland truly want true independence then fair enough as long as that means they become self funding as a nation as well.

Not sure about this - what would the impact be availability and price of single malt in Canada? Surely that's the key factor here?

Agree with the bold - as it's common sense - particularly given the latest bail out Scotland had.

I'd be all for it - it would make England more prosperous.

This!

If they want out, good luck and good bye and can we have our subsidies back please?

Good news. Break up the Union once and for all.

A first world country of 5 million people like Scotland could easily cut it on their own. Tourism, education, engineering, agriculture and fisheries, green energy production, North Sea oil...they have the resources, both human and material.

If anyone thinks that Scotland would fail they'll have to come up with some pretty convincing answers as to why other similar sized European countries dont fail and what their difference is to Scotland.

A recent poll had more people from England in favour of Scottish independence than Scottish people.

To be blunt, Scotland need England infinitely more than England need Scotland.

And I think most Scots know that, as I don't think they're thick.
