Is their some strange reason I am unaware of that giraffes cannot have a vasectomy or sterilised if female?

Just a thought !!!!!

But the meat will also come in handy for crocs, lions and staff I suppose.......

I heard Mario's been acting the prick with all the other giraffe's and camelids

wish he'd just wind his neck in

In the chilly dawn of Sunday morning a healthy young giraffe in a Danish zoo was given its favourite meal of rye bread by a keeper – and then shot in the head by a vet.

He was then dissected, in front of the zoo' visitors and fed to the lions.

R.I.P. (rest in pieces) Marius.

Saw a video of them chopping it up, disgraceful really. Absolutely no respect for the poor thing. One bolt in the head then proceeded to chop it's legs off in front of little children boasting that they need to learn these kinds of things. Awful!

The sad thing about this story is the fact if this happened in the wild then noone would know or care.

Stick the animal in the zoo and all of a sudden a human chooses between life or death for the animal.

I wonder if the same human should be trialled the same by a Lion or a Tiger? Sounds silly i know but we are the definition of defenceless in that situation so i think it does compare.

I don't understand why they had to put a bolt in his noggin, after a number of wildlife parks said they'd take him. Their excuse that his inbred genes meant that he shouldn't be allowed to reproduce simply doesn't wash, as they could have given him the chop. Blood thirsty tossers.

if the lions are hungry yet there is some sort of ethical/moral dilemma about feeding them...
