It would be interesting to compare whether this is down to apathy/anger or just that attendences are dropping throughout the league due to economics. Tbh I reckon the latter.

Bit of both for me personally, i refuse to spend money at a club employing grown men with highlights.

But.. i am torn, i should support ( financially ) a club that i know needs our support, the Neville jibe aside, i read and heard he took a sizable pay cut to stay on a 2 year extension which can only be applauded if true.

Personally I would've waited a few games to get an average, because you are comparing the average of whole seasons to one game.

But what do I know.

You can always compare individual points against averages or multiple points. That's the point of using the average. The reason why we're using previous years is because this was the first game but also to put the data into context.

This analysis should actually be in 3 or 4 dimensions, including time (year to year) and general UK economic health e.g. GDP or GNP. IMHO that's to make it more representative.

I mean we could use 95% confidence limits and standard deviations if you really want lad? :)

No lad. Don't really care, just asked.

Even at our complete crappest, I never once turned round to my old man and said "I don't want to go anymore..." and i saw some crap games.

I just enjoyed spending time with him, going different places, and meeting up with fellow blues and going thru the pain or joy or both together.

I don't have a son or anything but I know when I do (hopefully I will) I would be totally crushed if he said that to me. And spot on Muggins.

Your lad sounds like he needs to know what being an evertonian is all about

He doesn't enjoy the game like i did when me arl fella took me ,maybe my apathy for the club and it's current predicament is rubbing off on him..............he'd rather go fishing with his mates apparantley

All those reasons and the fact QPR prolly don't excite and bring in people from home and they prolly see Everton as a long distance trip and not a very exciting opposition. Just saying, like.

I can relate to this.

My Son is 8 and at the moment hes Everton crazy, cash wont really allow me to take him to games, plus whenever I try the seat next to me is always taken and with him being 8 he needs to sit next to me, ANYWAY.

I feel sorry for him every single day, he asks me questions all the time, about players, about Everton and I think he must be baffled by my answers sometimes, he doesnt get it yet, to him Everton are all powerful, he doesnt get upset when we lose, which is good, but his little face lights up when we win, it just makes me sad that I made him follow my team, of course there was no other team I would rather he support, but surely its some kind of child cruelty.

I should be locked up.

My old man should be locked up too, then.
Not really that bad of a thing... Plus you can always hope that when he gets older we'll get better and start winning and stuff like that.

on a side note just seen a link on the o.s. advising fans to arrive early to avoid ques as they,re expecting a late demand for tickets sounds optimistic to me.
