Ahh nice work dude, have an awesome trip (I'm hoping to go next summer)

One thing you have to see is obviously this insane road

I'm going for two weeks tomorrow. What's worth doing/seeing apart from that red bridge?

Soma is good (south of market)

And Mission is a good area to drink in.

As a GOT devotee you'll want to spend most of your time in the bars around The Castro.

Twin Peaks is worth it for the view.

Alcatraz.

Or do what I did take acid in CandleStick Park and watch rock bands melt in millions of colours.

Them were the days.

China town, little italy (you can find City lights bookstore there, the centre of the beat movement - you know ginsberg, ferlinghetti, kerouac - those cats) are all worth a visit.

Unlike many US cities you can walk around here.

Worth getting a car for one day though to zoom about.

Napa Valley wine tours worth doing.

God i'm jealous. San Fran is easily one of the best places in the states. The people are very different to other areas.

You go to Berkeley University and around there.

I think there's a japantown too with lots of sushi bars and a good few korean places.

Food is really good; try the deli sandwiches, mexican food, japan, korean, there's lots of super healthy stuff as well as the friscans love that kind of thing.

2 weeks isn't enough.

Thanks for the suggestions lids! I'm into my baseball so have got tickets to see the Giants on Friday which should be good.

Is it worth doing the Alca-ma-traz tour thing Leon?

And Alio I am a fan of mental roads so will definitely be checking that out

Buy a Doors album from the shop across from The Whisky A Go-Go.

Get some shiz and listen to it in a park, off your tree.

Drop out.

Seek out the members of The Village People.

Try to rollerblade down 'that' street.

Wear your 'Humber Bridge' T-Shirt when going to the tour of their paltry effort*, and keep butting in with random facts about it that trump theirs.(video a must)

* people from Runcorn should not employ this tactic in Sydney, in fact people from Runcorn should just keep schtum about the fact.

Defo do Alcatraz mate. When I went it was major foggy and on the boat I couldn't see a thing just these spooky fog horns ping off before arriving at quite a bizarre quiet place.

They even lock you in the cells, so I made sure I was wearing my Big Dunc shirt for the photo op.

San fran is boss. Neon nailed most of it.

Oh yeah, and Fishermans Wharf and China town.

I remember looking out the hotel to hundreds of people doing yoga on their roofs...

Amazing. The Humber Bridge also has the advantage that it can get you out of Hull and into glorious Lincolnshire (y)

deffo do Alcatraz - the tour is superb.

Napa valley is a must - do the Robert Mondavi winery tour, and get hammered at the end of it

Hire a car and go off south to Monteray, hire an ocean kayak and go hang with the sea-otters

After Monteray do 17 mile drive (through pebble beach) it costs about 10 dollars per car and it goes through the del-monte forest (hell just say yes!)

As for bars - I like Vesuvio, near North beach and Absinthe

If you wanna mix it with the rich then hang out in sausalito-just over the bridge

enjoy mate - I go there regularly, and I love it - its a great city

I don't think Welts is old enough to do the bar scene yet.

There are plenty of things to do around San Fran welts, and like Mutzo suggests, head down to Monterey and see that awesome town. I was there last week for work and managed to stay on Cannery Row. If you like seafood it is the city to go to.

And good luck hiring a car, they are quite expensive for under-25's in the states.

Cycle the bridge, get ratted in sausalito, then get the ferry back. Me and mrs bee did this on a tandem... oddly enough, you cycle a tandem much better when ratted.

Best view of city was from top of the mark bar on nob hill, its Frigging expensive so sip it! Amazing view though, if its foggy you can normally look out over the top of it.

best food I had was Lemongrass, on Hyde... amazing thai food.

San Fran Cisco has the most talented buskers I've ever seen, check them out.

Best city in the USA I reckon. Enjoy!
